Montréal Walks for Mental Health

 

One in five Canadians will be affected by mental illness

 

Montreal hospitals, CSSSs (Centre de santé et de services sociaux) and community organizations are mobilizing to organize the first annual Montréal Walks for Mental Health. Hosted by honorary chairperson, Margaret Trudeau, the event that takes place Sunday, October 18, 2009 at 11am consists of a 5 km walk beginning and ending at Pierre-Elliot Trudeau Park, in Côte St-Luc.

 

One in five Canadians will be affected by mental illness in their lifetime. Montréal Walks for Mental Health aims at raising public awareness, reducing stigma and raising funds for participating community organizations that provide mental health services. 

 

To come and walk for mental health, participants are asked to register at 10 am at Pierre-Elliot Trudeau Park, located at 6975 Mackle Road. Organize colleagues and friends. Walk as a team. Come and meet local mental health resources and enjoy refreshments and entertainment.
